The elements of the Excel screen.
1) The title bar
Allows you to manage the application in the window. It also gives the name of the application (Excel) and the current document (Book1).
2) The menu bar
We find all the commands in the application menu.
3) The toolbars
Displays the commands most often used. There are other bars available for different needs. They are under the View menu option and toolbar. You can even create your own toolbars to achieve your needs.
4) Position Indicator
Displays the position of the active cell. Can also be used to give a name to a cell. Also helps to move from one cell to another named.
5) The formula bar
Allows you to view and edit the contents of cells that contained either text, numbers or formulas.
6) The active cell
Allows you to select a cell or cell block, and then change its content, presentation, move, delete or several other possibilities.
7) The fill handle
Allows you to copy the contents of a cell, a formula or set of numbers or titles.
8) The headings of columns and rows
Identifies the position of cells relative to the intersection with the column letter (A through IV) and the row number (1 to 65 536)
9) The tabbed worksheets
Excel allows multiple worksheets in one workbook. The tabs are used to identify each leaf. Excel lets you perform calculations in length, width and also in "depth". It is possible to create a block of cells from multiple worksheets. For example, the formula for adding numbers in cells A1 worksheets sheet1 to Sheet5: = sum (sheet1: Sheet5! A1). Or the addition of the cell A1 of the worksheet with the current cell B4 of the worksheet Sheet2: = A1 + Sheet2! B4. You can vary according to your needs.
10) The scroll bar tabs
Since a workbook can have multiple worksheets, it is impossible to view all tabs at once. This bar can therefore view the worksheets that are not visible at any given time.
11) The status bar
Allows you to see at the bottom of the screen options that are enabled.
12) The scroll bars vertical and horizontal
Allows you to move horizontally and vertically on a worksheet. Each leaf is composed of 256 columns and 65 536 lines.
13) Cursors fractionation
Allows you to display cut in half horizontally and / or vertically. This allows comparison of figures that are distant. For example, this allows to compare the figures a month with those of the previous year.
14) Columns
Each worksheet contains 256 columns named A-IV.
15) Lines
Each worksheet contains rows numbered from 1 to 65 536.
16) The pointer ( is a cross that is not represent in figure).
Allows you to select a cell, a cell block, an object, or activate the menu options or buttons on toolbars.
Excel also contains several toolbars with the most commonly used. If you have any information on a button, press SHIFT (Shift) and F1. Then click the button you want.
